Our vans are designed with every detail in mind following our core principals of highest quality at the lowest cost. Below is the equipment we install in each Cascade Camper and the reasoning behind why we chose what we use.

VMAX LFP27-12100 Lithium 100AH Battery
We have been using VMAX batteries since the beginning and they have preformed very well. With are recent change to Lithium we have decided to go with them again.
Sunpower 100w Solar Panel
We switched to using the Sun Power panels over a couple of years ago. They have proven to be very reliable. We use the semi-flexible vs. a rigid panel for lower cost and more stealth. Unless you are looking down on the van from above or are really tall you don’t even know it is there. When it comes time to replace it you could glue another on top of the existing or cut the existing one off and glue another down.

Victron MPPT 10A Charge Controller
We have standardized on Victron Energy for our electrical components. They are the best in the industry. This controller is good for 75 volts and 10amps.
Victron BMV-712
This shunt based battery meter gives a very accurate as well as easy to read display of how much battery capacity you have. If so inclined, it also has Bluetooth capability with a very easy to use app.
Victron Orion-tr 30amp dc-dc charger
With the move to a lithium house battery it requires a DC-DC charger. We opted for the 30amp version to charge your battery quickly when your engine is running.
ampeak 400w power inverter
We are generally against inverters as they waste a ton of power. Not going to say this one wastes more or less than others but it does have a nice form factor that fits well in our cabinetry and has proven to be very reliable. We wire it direct to our house fuse box with a 40amp fuse so you get the full 400watts like if you were connect it direct to the battery versus the 10amps you get out of a cigarette lighter port. Yes the wiring we install is designed to take that load. If there is something you are going to use often get a 12volt version to avoid using an inverter.
ventline vp-543 roof air vent
There aren’t a lot of roof vents smaller than the full 14” variety and this is the best available by far. The 14” are just too big in our opinion for a van this size. These Ventline fans are installed on flat portions of the roof allowing a great seal that will last. By default they come with just an on/off switch but we install a speed control so you can adjust the fan speed depending on what you want. We install 2 of these as we like the option to have them both on low for minimal sound with lots of airflow.
Dometic CFX-25 Fride
This is the new version of the CF25 that we have installed in 100s of vans. The CFX-25 is a little bigger than the CF25 was and overall is a really nice update. The temperature is configurable to be either a fridge or a freezer but not both at the same time. They are very efficient and made even more efficient with a Dometic brand Koozie as seen on our recommended products page. As with any refrigerator these are significantly more efficient when they have stuff in them. So keep a 6 pack or 2 in there in the name of efficiency! Per Dometic they can hold 32 cans. Hate to admit it but we haven’t tested that yet. Sounds like we have work to do!
Comet 12v water pump
This is the pump we use in our water bottle system. We have had great luck with these. Do your best not to let the water bottle freeze as that is one thing these pumps don’t like so much.
