We don’t build the City-based Little Van conversions anymore, but we’ve kept the info up for the 419 folks out there still adventuring in theirs (you know who you are). It’s also a great way to show where we started—and why we’re exactly the right kind of people to design a livable van that still fits in a regular ol’ parking space. For most builders, squeezing comfort and functionality into the 118" wheelbase would be a real head-scratcher—it’s quite a bit smaller than the big vans most of the industry is used to. But for us? It’s downright spacious compared to what we’ve been working with. We managed to pack in a ton of thoughtful features and still keep things feeling open and easy to live in.
Standard Features
A comfy couch that converts into a 42-inch-wide, 6 foot 4 inch long, two-person bed. Comes in two colors: desert tan and slate grey.
Five-gallon water tank and sink. Water tank features quick-release water lines for easy filling. Sink drain has two options for draining. Either out the back bumper or a 1 gallon grey water tank for those times when that is important
Lithium based house battery system charges while driving. A roof-mounted 100w solar panel takes over charging duty while parked. Optional second solar panel for 200w of solar. We include a fast charging USB-C port as well as a standard USB port, a 12v cigarette lighter port and a 400-watt power inverter for 110volt "necessities" (no hair dryers here). Optional 1000-watt inverter if you have higher power requirements.
A Dometic CFX-25 fridge to keep the beer cold and the burgers fresh — no need for ice. This fridge holds 32 cans and has a locking lid to ensure it stays airtight. The temperature is adjustable so it can act as either a refrigerator or a freezer.
Interior camp lighting includes soft white LED light bars on both sides of the van and have two brightness settings. There are also dimmable red LED bars which preserve night vision and create a chill mood while camping.
Single-burner Gas One butane cook top that is stored in a cubby near the sliding passenger door for easy access.
Two discreet 6” roof-mounted Ventline adjustable speed fans for ventilation and airflow while camping.
Five 15.8L storage bins secured below the bed with twist locks; a long, narrow storage space behind the bed; and a number of handy storage pockets, nooks, and crannies peppered throughout. (Our campers are small so please pack light. You’re not backpacking here, but you’ll be happier if you limit your gear to what fits in the provided storage compartments.)
Privacy curtains that are secured in place with magnets that are sewn into the sides of the curtains. Our upholsterer, Ashley, has a bin of fun choices for curtains or send us your own fabric for no extra charge. We encourage your creativity! Curtains are double layer with a standard grey that faces the outside for added stealth and light blocking.
1/8” birch paneling and 1/2” closed cell foam insulation covering the entire ceiling, back wall panels and door panels if your van doesn’t have slider door windows.
Super durable, black Hexa-Grip flooring with aluminum trim along the edges for added protection. We install sound dampening to the van before we install the floor. Once the camper kit is installed it is a lot quieter and then once you get your gear loaded in it gets even that much quieter.
